Het Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek (CBS) publiceert de meest gezaghebbende data over bouwvergunningen en nieuwbouw in Nederland. Via de StatLine API (OData) kunnen gebruikers kwartaal- en maandcijfers ophalen over het aantal vergunde woningen, de geraamde bouwkosten, en de bouwtijd. Uniek aan deze dataset is dat ook 'afgeblazen' (geannuleerde) bouwprojecten worden geregistreerd, wat een uitstekende indicator is voor de marktomstandigheden en rentegevoeligheid van projectontwikkelaars. In Q1 2026 stonden er 226.500 woningen 'in de pijplijn' (vergund maar nog niet opgeleverd).
